Chalkboard of the Future:
Learning to Teach with Technology

Improving America's Schools Conference
Technology Institute
Washington, DC
December 14, 2000

Recent research suggests that in order for professional development to be effective, it must be designed to address several important factors, such as educators' technology skills, teachers' and students' current uses of technology for teaching and learning, and overall school climate. The Technology Institute at the Improving America's Schools Conference in Washington, DC provided educators with innovative strategies for using data to design and plan effective professional development.  Review some of the presentations and resources used during the Institute.

Educators are searching for tools and instruments to measure and document the impact of technology on teaching and learning. This presentation is based on a reprint of an article from the April 1999 issue of T.H.E. Journal.
