Mary McSpadden's love, respect, and admiration for her niece, Emily, who has Downs Syndrome, inspired her to leave a successful career in the corporate world and fulfill a lifelong goal--writing a children's book that shows the importance of hope, faith, and perseverance in overcoming some of life's greatest obstacles.
Mary began her professional career as a first-grade classroom teacher and still considers herself a teacher at heart. The majority of her career, however, has been spent working for a major technology company, where she sold technology solutions to educators across the nation.
Raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, she received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Tennessee and currently lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
