After-school
Expanded Learning Opportunities programs include a wide variety of programs that provide learning opportunities outside the traditional K–12 school day. The formats of these programs vary, but they provide children with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge that will enhance their success in school. School-age expanded learning opportunities programs include before- and after-school, Saturday academies, summer schools, extended school years, and other non-traditional programs that enhance student learning. Community-based service providers are often involved.
