SERVE, Inc
SERVE, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation established in 1991 as a support corporation to the SERVE Center and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) under IRS code 509(a)3. The purpose of SERVE, Inc. is to supplement and complement the mission, objectives, and business activities of the SERVE Center at UNCG in particular, and the University in general.
Whereas the purpose of the SERVE Center is to primarily conduct sponsored research and development, technical assistance, evaluation, and dissemination of research-based information through long-term federal, state, and private contracts and grants, SERVE, Inc. is the SERVE Center’s fiscal entity through which short-term, fee-based services are delivered to schools, school districts and others upon request.
Through the use of educational experts and consultants affiliated with the SERVE Center and SERVE, Inc., SERVE, Inc. maintains the capacity to provide technical assistance, professional development, and customized training services. Services available include assistance in the areas of: Smaller Learning Communities; Professional Learning Teams; Teacher Growth and Assessment; Advancing Reading Achievement; School-Wide Title I; Technology in Learning; Mathematics and Science Education; Early Childhood Education; Migrant Education; Homeless Education; and, a variety of program evaluation services.
