by Matthew M.
Richard Walser is North Carolina's foremost writer of the State's literary history. He was born in 1908 and died in 1988. We are able to use his writings for much of our study of the history of North Carolina. Walser taught briefly at UNC at Chapel Hill, but spent most of his career at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Walser was influenced by his father who was a NC State legislator and an Attorney General.
