The forum is a place where educators working with homeless children and youth can share information that has been helpful to them in their work.

Participants are invited to submit files or information they would like to see added to the forum. Information submitted will be reviewed by NCHE staff.

Approved submissions will be added to the online forum and, when applicable, to NCHE's Information by Topic or State and Local Resources pages.

Material Review

People submitting material for review will be notified via e-mail as to whether their submission was accepted.

Forum materials will be reviewed periodically to ensure that they are current and applicable.

Information submitted will be reviewed using the following criteria:
  • Is the item up to date?
  • Is the item applicable to or would it appeal to other educators working with homeless children across the country or in your state?
  • Does the item demonstrate compliance with federal law, including the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act?
  • Is the item of good overall quality?
  • Is the item copyrighted? (only non-copyrighted materials will be considered)
  • Is the item a commercial product? (only non-commercial materials will be considered)
  • Is the item political in nature? (content from lobbying or partisan groups will not be included)
Examples of useful materials include:
  • Sample forms
  • Posters
  • Public awareness materials
  • McKinney-Vento subgrant application forms
  • Local policies
  • Training materials
  • Program evaluation materials
  • Instructional aids
This is not an exclusive list. Other types of materials are welcome.
